A Quick Word About Fifty Shades of Grey the Movie...

courtesy of Eonline.com
Well, I went and saw Fifty Shades of Grey today. It was....hot. It was....steamy. It was....something. I read the books awhile ago and have been impatiently waiting for the movie to come out. I thought that the movie was done very tastefully and, in my opinion, it was very true to the books. I've talked to some of my book friends and most have loved it and then there were some who did not. I think there were some cringe worthy scenes, but overall I thought Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson did a very good job on portraying Christian and Ana. My only problems were that Christian didn't come as asshole-y enough in the beginning. He was too nice. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I did notice it enough. Another thing about this movie is that it's pretty funny. There were a few times when I had to contain my laughter and I noticed some of the people around me did too. Speaking of the people around me, I tried not to look at them too much. I went by myself and pretty early (10:30am) because I thought that there wouldn't be too many people there. It wasn't a packed theater, but it sure wasn't as empty as I had hoped. I'm definitely the type of person to get embarrassed about these kinds of movies and didn't really want to sit in a room with a bunch of people that I didn't know, while we watched two people have sex on screen. But, alas, I couldn't wait until the DVD came out because I have no patience what's so ever. :) As I've mentioned, I thought the movie was very good and done in a way that made it not look like you were in a movie theater watching pornography. Which in my book, is a win. So, that's all for today. I would recommend anyone over the age of 18 to see this movie and to read the books. They aren't all about sex, even though it's a massive part of the story. There is a story, a romance,
there, and it's actually a pretty good one. Can't wait for the sequel and as soon as they announce the release date I'll begin my countdown.

Now, I have to wait for The Longest Ride to come out in April. If you haven't watched the trailer, then please indulge yourself: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUS_Q7FsfqU
